The Dexin Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament has been held annually in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, during the Labor Day holiday (May 1–4) since 2008. This year, 16 teams from three countries—South Korea, China, and Uzbekistan—participated. They were divided into four groups, played group stage matches, and then advanced to knockout rounds based on their rankings.
This representative squad, formed by the Gumi City Football Association, was mainly composed of players from the Bisan Elementary School football team. The team secured a 2-1 victory against the Uzbekistan team in the group stage, and also recorded 4-1 and 3-1 wins against Chinese teams, finishing at the top of their group and advancing to the quarterfinals.
The team continued their winning streak through the quarterfinal and semifinal matches, reaching the final. In the championship match, they showed great determination against the physically dominant Chinese team but ultimately lost, ending the tournament as runners-up.
Participation in this tournament was organized as part of an official exchange program under the youth sports exchange agreement between Gumi City and Changsha City, China. Through their participation, the team not only gained valuable international experience but also contributed to strengthening friendship and expanding sports exchanges between the two cities.
