The Only Asian Bank Ranked in the Global Top 5
Shinhan Financial Group announced on April 30 that it ranked fifth among global commercial banks in the '2026 ESG Corporate Rating' published by ISS, a leading global proxy advisory firm, making it the only Asian bank to be selected as an 'Industry Leader.'
Shinhan Financial Group was recognized for its achievements in ESG management, ranking fifth out of 321 commercial banks worldwide. As a result, the company was also selected as an 'Industry Leader,' an honor given to the top five companies in the same industry group.
In particular, the group received high marks for establishing and operating industry-specific guidelines for environmental and social risk management, integrating ESG standards across all asset management and proprietary investments, building robust information security management systems, and expanding efforts in green finance and sustainable services.
A Shinhan Financial Group representative said, "This result demonstrates that the group's ESG management capabilities and execution are recognized as being among the best in the world," adding, "We will use this achievement as a foundation to further enhance and refine our ESG framework going forward."
