"Announce Geochang County Governor Primary Results Immediately"... Ku Inmo's Camp Urges Investigation into List Leak
Amid escalating controversy surrounding the primary for the People Power Party candidate for Geochang County Governor, Ku Inmo's preliminary campaign headquarters has called on the party to promptly announce the results of the re-run primary and request an investigation into those involved in the alleged leak of the party membership list.
On April 29, Ku Inmo's preliminary campaign headquarters held a press conference at the Geochang-eup election office, stating, "The delayed re-run primary results must be made public immediately, and a thorough investigation into the membership list leak incident must be conducted."
The press conference proceeded with a statement read by headquarters chief Kim Youngcheol, followed by a Q&A session, and was attended by dozens of reporters and supporters.

He particularly emphasized, "The fact of the membership list leak had already spread by word of mouth, and it was confirmed through a related statement that an actual leak had occurred. As the South Gyeongsang Provincial Party has stated, the authorities must promptly request an investigation in order to restore the integrity of the primary process that has been undermined."
The campaign headquarters officially presented four demands: immediate announcement of the re-run primary results, referral of all individuals involved in the list leak for investigation, cessation of lawmaker Shin Sungbeom’s involvement in the candidate nomination committee, and prompt confirmation of the People Power Party candidate for Geochang County Governor.
Kim stated, "Actions that appear to reflect only the position of specific stakeholders betray the wishes of the 60,000 residents," adding, "These measures are essential to restore fair election procedures and protect Geochang's political pride."
Attendees at the site also voiced their frustration over the delay in the primary. One participant remarked, "There has never been such a chaotic election," asserting, "The re-run results must be announced promptly to restore public confidence."
Another attendee stressed, "The leak of the party membership list is a serious issue that violates the Public Official Election Act and the Personal Information Protection Act," and insisted that all parties involved should face legal action.
Currently, in the Geochang region, the delay in the primary and various rumors are significantly shaking local public opinion. Speculation about preferred candidates, exclusions, independent runs, and outside recruitment has continued since the beginning of the year, and with the further delay in the announcement of the primary results, voter fatigue and distrust are growing.
