On April 29, he attended several events, including education for transportation workers in Jeonnam, an inauguration ceremony for the Jeonnam United Kindergarten Association president, a meeting with Jeonnam cultural and arts organizations, and a declaration of support from religious groups in Mokpo.
In Muan, Lee discussed ways to enhance cooperation between education and local administration with Kim San, the county governor, Ko Sungseok, a provincial council member, and preliminary candidates for basic council seats Kim Daehyun, Im Hyunsoo, Lee Hosung, and Jeong Okhyun. He also visited the Muan traditional market to talk with residents about current educational issues.
At the site, one parent expressed the hope that children could receive quality education locally without having to move to cities. In response, Lee Jung-sun pledged to establish a highly competitive educational environment in Muan.
Emphasizing "education that nurtures students well even within the local community" as the direction for Muan's education, he unveiled plans to foster prestigious high schools through programs such as 365 Study Rooms, 24-hour career and college admissions services, one college admissions director per high school, and the operation of Winter Schools.
He also presented plans to build regional premium learning support centers, integrate AI-based self-directed learning and care services, support future education such as coding through AI Education Support Centers, and strengthen the digital competitiveness of local students.
For generational integration, Lee explained plans to recognize educational attainment for seniors through the Muan-style Youth School and to operate educational programs involving three generations together.
Additionally, he outlined efforts to expand support for the "Happiness Learning Class," which includes cultural experiences, park golf, and smartphone literacy education, as well as to foster the overall educational environment in the area through village education communities and multicultural education partnerships.
Lee Jung-sun also promised parents to expand student welfare programs, including providing 600,000 won to middle school students, 1 million won to high school students, 720,000 won to first-grade elementary students, and 500,000 won to third-grade elementary students through the "Dream Delivery" initiative.
He reaffirmed his commitment to finding answers in the educational field and stated his intention to create an environment where children do not have to leave their local area for education and where parents can feel at ease.
