Dongdaemun District Mayor Candidate Lee Pilhyung Appoints Former Senior Vice Chair Park Suok as Supporters' Association Chairperson

Lee Pilhyung, candidate for Mayor of Dongdaemun District in Seoul, announced on the 28th that he has appointed Park Suok, former Senior Vice Chairman of the Dongdaemun-gap branch of the People Power Party, as the chairperson of his supporters' association.
According to Lee, former Vice Chairman Park has been active in the Dongdaemun area for a long time and is regarded as a respected elder of the community. Lee stated, "I believe the chairperson of the supporters' association should be someone who embraces the community and is willing to listen to residents' voices," adding, "I am deeply grateful that she accepted the role so willingly."

View original imageChairperson Park Suok commented, "It brings me great joy to be needed by someone and to still be able to help," and added, "Candidate Lee Pilhyung has always been sincere toward people and Dongdaemun, and I decided to take on this role to support that sincerity."
Lee Pilhyung’s supporters' association completed its establishment procedures on the 28th and opened an office at Jangandong Intersection. Full-scale support activities will begin from the 29th. Previously, on the morning of the 22nd at around 6 a.m., Lee held a campaign launch event in the area around Gyeongdong Market with Seoul Metropolitan Council and district council candidates, as well as supporters, officially starting his election campaign.
Over the following week, while participating in press conferences and interviews, Lee walked approximately 250,000 steps, personally meeting with residents to communicate directly with each individual. During this time, he also held a local press conference, participated in a TikTok challenge with high school students on the street, and visited local community centers, fulfilling a schedule that spanned all generations.
On the 27th, when applications for high oil price relief funds began, Lee visited each community center in person, meeting residents who lined up early in the morning to listen to their concerns firsthand.

Lee stated, "I heard a lot of candid feedback and complaints, and I sincerely felt the difficulties people are experiencing in the economy," adding, "I am learning many things again at the grassroots level." He continued, "The voices of the residents are the very foundation of policy and the future of Dongdaemun," and promised, "I will take even more steps to meet as many residents as possible."
