Jung Wonoh Criticizes Oh Sehoon for Fueling Tax Anxiety and Spreading False Real Estate Claims (Comprehensive)
"Oh Sehoon’s Wasteful Spending of Tax Money Is the Biggest Problem"
Jung Wonoh, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for Seoul mayor, criticized Oh Sehoon, the People Power Party candidate, for making real estate policy a campaign issue, saying, "Every election, raising the issue of taxes stirs up anxiety and intensifies real estate conflicts."

He pointed out that Oh had lifted the land transaction permit system in the Gangnam and Songpa areas last year, only to reverse the decision, saying, "He is the one responsible for creating market turmoil by impulsively lifting the land transaction permit system in Seoul and then reversing it after just 35 days. It does not make sense for him to now shift the blame onto the government."
Regarding Mayor Oh's repeated requests for Jung's position on the long-term capital gains tax exemption for homeowners, Jung maintained his previous stance, stating, "The current rights of single-homeowners who actually reside in their property must be unconditionally protected."
He added, "If there is continued deliberate distortion of facts and incitement of conflict through false claims about abolishing the exemption, citizens will inevitably deliver a stern judgment. While he could not speak up against the incompetence and recklessness of the Yoon Suk Yeol administration, he is now picking a fight with the capable Lee Jae-myung administration."
Jung continued his criticism of Mayor Oh during an appearance on KBS's current affairs program "Sasagungeon" ("Every Case"), stating, "The biggest problem with Oh's administration is wasteful spending of tax money," mentioning examples such as the Han River bus and the 'Garden of Appreciation.'

He explained, "I believe work should begin in those areas first. If the cover park project is delayed, the completion of the redevelopment could be postponed as well."
Commenting on recent polls showing a narrowing gap between the two major parties in Seoul, Jung said, "Regardless of current or past approval ratings, Seoul elections have always been close contests. The outcome will be decided by a narrow margin. The spirit of this election is to choose a capable administrator who will ensure the safety and stability of citizens' daily lives."
