View original imageThe participants visited Godalsa Temple Site, Yeoju Museum, Silleuksa Temple, and Yeongneung Royal Tomb in order, directly experiencing these historical sites while listening to explanations from a curator and a cultural tourism interpreter.
The museum's volunteers play a key role in museum operations, being responsible for exhibition commentary, visitor guidance, maintaining order, and ensuring safety. This field survey is expected to provide practical help for volunteers to offer more in-depth commentary to visitors and to improve their on-site response skills.
In particular, Silleuksa Temple, included in this course, is where Naong Hyegeun, who once served as the abbot of Hoeamsa Temple, passed away. It was a meaningful opportunity to directly observe heritage sites such as the Josajeon Hall and the Stupa of Bojejonja. In addition, participants experienced various exhibitions and educational programs at Yeoju Museum, which provided valuable insights for future museum content planning.
One volunteer shared, "It was meaningful to visit Godalsa Temple Site and Silleuksa Temple in person, places I had only seen in books," and added, "I feel I will be able to deliver even more useful information to visitors during future exhibition commentaries."
Hong Miyeong, Head of Culture and Tourism Division (and Director of the Yangju City Hoeamsa Temple Site Museum), expressed gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank the volunteers who generously dedicate their time and passion to realize public value," and added, "We will continue to work together to create an even better environment for volunteering."
