Sangju, the Home of Sambaek, Holds First Rice Transplanting of "Misojinpoom"
Sangju City in North Gyeongsang Province carried out the season's first rice transplanting of the "Misojinpoom" variety in the Doan-ri area of Moseo-myeon on April 27.
Misojinpoom is highly resistant to diseases and pests and offers yields comparable to other high-yield rice varieties.
It is a rice variety that ranked first in a nationwide consumer taste test, and starting from 2025, it has been selected as a procurement variety for the city's public rice stockpiling program. As such, it is now recognized as Sangju City's representative rice variety.
