PRIZM Selected for '17th Tourism Venture Business'... Demonstrates Competitiveness of Experiential K-Tourism Model
Tourism Products Combining Leading Regional Premium Hotels and K-Content Recognized for Differentiated Business Potential
A Content Platform with Over 20 Million Cumulative Viewers Draws Attention for Linking Inbound Tourism Demand
RXC, led by CEO Hanik Yoo, which operates the retail media platform PRIZM, announced that it has been selected for the '17th Tourism Venture Business' in the Growth Tourism Venture category, supervised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.
The Tourism Venture Business program is designed to discover and nurture venture companies with creative ideas and business potential in the tourism sector. This year, more than 1,500 companies applied, resulting in a highly competitive ratio of 15:1. PRIZM was chosen for the Growth Tourism Venture category in recognition of its potential to expand its premium travel commerce achievements and global K-content-based operational capabilities into tourism.
PRIZM is a retail media platform that combines high-sensitivity video content and live commerce, expanding content-based experiential consumption. PRIZM has operated nationwide tourism products, not only in the Seoul metropolitan area but also in Jeju, Busan, Gangneung, and Sokcho, through collaborations with premium hotels. In particular, it has secured differentiated competitiveness by encouraging experiential consumption through a 'discovery commerce' structure based on high-definition live and short-form content. Its notable achievements include planning and operating tourism products that maximize unique experience elements in connection with leading premium hotels in each region.
Additionally, PRIZM has built up live operational capabilities centered on K-content, based on a global user base of approximately 4.7 million people. By globally broadcasting major award ceremonies such as the Baeksang Arts Awards, Blue Dragon Series Awards, and Golden Disc Awards, PRIZM has attracted a cumulative viewership of over 20 million people. For the 40th Golden Disc Awards popularity vote alone, about 48 million votes were counted, demonstrating high engagement from the global fandom. Leveraging these achievements, PRIZM is constructing a structure that converts K-content consumption into actual inbound tourism demand and plans to accelerate the expansion of inbound tourism products in the future.
This platform competitiveness has driven rapid growth. PRIZM recorded a growth rate of over three times compared to the previous year, surpassing an annual transaction volume of KRW 150 billion, and achieved over KRW 11 billion in transaction volume from a single live promotion. Furthermore, the monthly active user (MAU) count and repeat visit rate both more than doubled, earning recognition for its excellence in user experience as well.
With its selection for this Tourism Venture Business program, PRIZM plans to further advance content-based experiential tourism products. It will expand tourism packages that combine K-culture event tickets with premium accommodations, and increase the inflow of foreign tourists based on its global fandom. Additionally, it aims to contribute to the advancement of the K-tourism industry by expanding stay-type tourism models that link regional tourism resources with performances and events nationwide. Examples of PRIZM’s work include collaborations combining accommodations and K-content, such as the Grand Josun Jeju and Isaac Hong music live, and the Podo Hotel and Sunwoo Jung-A. These cases demonstrate the potential for future expansion of tourism products.
RXC CEO Hanik Yoo stated, "Being selected for this Tourism Venture Business program is significant as it acknowledges the potential of the content-based experiential tourism model that PRIZM has established," adding, "We will continue to connect global tourism demand with the domestic market through differentiated experiences that combine premium hotels and K-content, and build a new K-tourism ecosystem."
