Vows Victory in General Election with Former Candidate Kim Seokgu
Park Gwanyul, who was selected as the Democratic Party candidate for mayor of Gwangju, has begun to actively advance toward victory in the general election by launching a 'One Team' system following the party's primary election.

View original imageOn April 25, Park Gwanyul's campaign office announced that Ahn Taejun, National Assembly member of the Democratic Party's Eul District Committee, former Gwangju mayoral candidate Kim Seokgu, as well as Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly candidates, Gwangju City Council preliminary candidates, and executive committee members visited the campaign office to express their support and strengthen their unity.
On the same day, Park Gwanyul stated, "I am deeply grateful to former candidate Kim Seokgu, who was with us until the final round," adding, "By carrying on Kim's intentions and role, I will ensure victory for Gwangju and the Democratic Party."
Former candidate Kim Seokgu remarked, "Now, Park is the official candidate of the Democratic Party," and continued, "The primary and final rounds were part of the democratic process to select the best candidate."
He further emphasized, "While the democratic process can sometimes appear as conflict, it is actually the result of healthy competition. Now, I will do my part to ensure Park's victory."
National Assembly member Ahn Taejun also commented, "The Eul District will join forces with city and provincial council members to ensure Park's victory," adding, "We will actively promote Park through various opportunities within the community and work together to secure a Democratic Party win."
This meeting, held after the final round, is seen as an occasion to reaffirm party unity and formalize the 'One Team' system.
The attendees pledged to unite their efforts for the development of Gwangju and the improvement of citizens' quality of life.
