Experience It at Major Festivals and Events in Gimhae

The charming and friendly mascot "Todeogi," which won the Grand Prize at the 2025 Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival, has become the main character of a retro game representing Gimhae City in Gyeongnam Province.

The Gimhae Culture and Tourism Foundation announced on April 27 that it has created a retro game called "Todeogi Adventure" featuring Todeogi as the protagonist.

"Todeogi Adventure" is a casual arcade game that was directly developed by employees of the Policy and Public Relations Team at the Gimhae Culture and Tourism Foundation using the latest generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The game tells the story of Todeogi, who uses a mystical buncheong pottery as a weapon to purify the "Nojam Monsters" that steal the fun from citizens.

The game consists of five stages, starting at the Maru Hall of the Gimhae Arts and Sports Center and progressing through the Citizen Sports Center Ice Rink, Gimhae Gaya Theme Park, Clayarch Gimhae Museum, and culminating in a final boss battle.

For the development of this game, the Policy and Public Relations Team at the Gimhae Culture and Tourism Foundation launched a collaborative organization called the "AI Content Lab" as a pilot project, bringing together staff from planning, IT, and design. The entire game production process utilized the latest AI technologies tailored to their needs.

Conversational AIs such as Perplexity and Gemini were used for planning and scenario writing, while generative AIs like Adobe Firefly were employed to create visual, video, and music elements. Even the game coding phase benefited from AI assistance, allowing employees to handle the entire production internally without outsourcing.

The game "Todeogi Adventure" will not be distributed online but can be enjoyed at major festivals and events in the Gimhae area.

It will be released for the first time at the "Gimhae Gaya Culture Festival," which will be held from April 30 to May 3, and will also be available at the "Gimhae Nuriyari Children's Festival" from May 2 to 3.

Anyone who adds the official Kakao channel of the Gimhae Culture and Tourism Foundation as a friend can experience the game once per person.

Choi Seokchul, CEO of the foundation, said, "Through this game, which was created entirely in-house as our employees directly learned and studied AI technologies, we hope to further promote Gimhae's representative mascot Todeogi and the foundation's various cultural and tourism facilities to citizens. We will continue to discover appealing promotional methods that keep up with trends through ongoing, staff-driven operation of the AI Content Lab."
