View original imageKorea Electric Power Corporation announced on April 27 that it held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at its headquarters in Naju, South Jeolla Province, and appointed Jaegun Kim, former head of the Busan-Ulsan Headquarters, as an executive director. He was also named Head of the Power System Headquarters (Vice President).
Jaegun Kim graduated from Sudo Technical High School and the Department of Electrical Engineering at Kyungil University. Since joining Korea Electric Power Corporation in 1986, he has held various positions including head of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Construction Branch, head of the Power Management Office at the Daegu Headquarters, head of the New Transmission Project Office, and head of the Busan-Ulsan Headquarters.

In particular, Kim is recognized as the right person to lead the timely construction of future power grids, not only for his expertise in the new transmission sector—demonstrated by successfully completing the country’s first voltage source HVDC (high-voltage direct current) project connecting the mainland and Jeju Island—but also for his extensive field experience in power grid construction and overall operations.
