View original imageThe Korea Exchange announced on the 27th that it participated in the "Korean-Style Voluntary Carbon Market Alliance Launch Ceremony" hosted by the Ministry of Planning and Budget. The ceremony was held on the morning of the same day at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul.
At the launch ceremony, the Korea Exchange revealed its plan to establish the "KRX Carbon Credit Market." The exchange emphasized that it would set up a listing review system to ensure the reliability of the quality of listed carbon credits. It also explained that it would cooperate with the government and domestic carbon credit registration agencies to build a stable and efficient platform.
The Korea Exchange also introduced its plan to promote overseas linked trading and attract international liquidity to the KRX Carbon Credit Market by collaborating with global carbon credit exchanges, registration agencies, and investors.

During his congratulatory speech, Eunbo Jung, Chairman of the Korea Exchange, stated, "The voluntary carbon market is becoming a necessity, not a choice, in terms of corporate social responsibility." He added, "Based on our experience operating the emissions trading market for 11 years, we will develop the KRX Carbon Credit Market into a global hub."
