Cheongdo-gun received a great response from residents by operating the Resident Participatory Budget School, as part of efforts to invigorate the participatory budgeting system that allows residents to be directly involved in the budget formulation process.
This educational program was held over two days, on April 20 and 21, and was conducted in two sessions divided by region: Sanseo (Women's Hall) and Sandong (Maejeon Culture Center). More than 60 local residents participated in the program.

The main topics included: ▲the operating procedures of the participatory budgeting system ▲sharing of case studies from other municipalities and Cheongdo-gun ▲practical exercises in drafting project proposals, among others.
Participating residents commented, "It was impressive to see that vague ideas could be developed into concrete proposals," adding, "It became an opportunity to directly propose projects necessary for our community."
Currently, Cheongdo-gun is accepting proposals for participatory budgeting projects that demonstrate creativity and effectiveness, and any resident of Cheongdo-gun is eligible to participate.
Project proposals can be submitted by visiting town offices or through the county government website until July 31.
Submitted projects will undergo departmental review and deliberation by the Participatory Budgeting Committee, after which projects that are closely related to residents' daily lives and have high perceived impact will be selected and reflected in the 2027 main budget.
In addition, Cheongdo-gun plans to conduct participatory budget monitoring at the end of April to inspect and evaluate the results of projects implemented through participatory budgeting, as well as to review the implementation plans and progress of all participatory budget projects currently underway as of 2026.
