The Gwangmyeong City Just Dream Project is a welfare model closely connected to daily life, designed to quickly provide food and daily necessities to citizens in crisis without complicated procedures. It continues the intent of the "Gyeonggi Food Just Dream Corner," which was introduced by President Lee Jaemyung during his tenure as governor of Gyeonggi Province. Gwangmyeong City has developed the "Gwangmyeong-style welfare model" by combining the Food Market and Just Dream Project, enabling on-site support, welfare counseling, identification of households in crisis, and linking public and private resources in an integrated way.
Seungwon Park, the preliminary candidate for mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "The Just Dream Project and Food Market in Gwangmyeong are not merely support programs but function as a real safety net in the daily lives of citizens," and emphasized, "Making sure support reaches people quickly at the moment they need it is the very starting point of a basic society."
Minister Eun-kyung Jung also highly praised the policy significance of the Gwangmyeong case during her visit. She said, "The Food Market and Just Dream Project in Gwangmyeong are not just policies responding to welfare needs, but are field-based welfare models," adding, "Such initiatives by Gwangmyeong City can serve as valuable examples for community-centered welfare policies."
