'Welcome to Gyeonggi for the First Time?'...Exclusive One-Day Tour Bus for Foreign Visitors Launched
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government, in collaboration with Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, has launched a one-day tour package exclusively for foreign visitors.
On April 22, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced the release of the foreigner-only one-day travel product '2026 EG Tour (Easy & Enjoy Gyeonggi Tour)' on April 21. The product is designed so that foreign tourists visiting Korea can enjoy major attractions in the province in a single day, without the inconvenience of public transportation.
The EG Tour is a customized direct tour that departs from major locations in Seoul with excellent accessibility for foreigners, such as Hongik University Station, Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station, and Yangjae Station. The tour allows participants to comfortably explore tourist sites in the province and return to the original departure point. To maximize comfort and safety, vehicles ranging from 7-seaters to 45-seaters are flexibly arranged according to passenger demand.
This year, four regular routes have been developed and are being operated, taking into account the diverse preferences of tourists.
First, the Suwon·Yongin route, which combines tradition and Hallyu (the Korean Wave), offers a tour of the Korean Folk Village, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, and Suwon Nammun Market, providing guests with a taste of Korea's unique charm and street food.
The Icheon·Yeoju route features ceramics and history as its themes, taking visitors to Icheon Cerapia and Yeoju Silleuksa Temple, and also includes shopping at Yeoju Premium Outlets, allowing for both cultural experiences and practical value.
The Paju Peace Tourism route offers an in-depth look at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), including Imjingak and Dokgae Bridge, accompanied by a professional guide. On the same day, the Gimpo route starts, which adds local gourmet experiences and outlet shopping to the natural scenery of the Aegibong Peace Ecological Park.
In addition to the scheduled routes, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government will also operate themed, specially planned routes that vividly capture the changing seasons and regional vibrancy. During the peak seasons of spring and autumn, routes will be established focusing on destinations known for flowers and vibrant autumn foliage. During local festival periods, special courses linked to event schedules will be offered.
The product can be purchased through online travel platforms such as Klook, KKday, and Trip.com.
Go Youngmi, Director of Tourism Industry at Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "The EG Tour is a highly meaningful initiative that addresses the regret of foreign tourists who only stay in Seoul and expands demand throughout Gyeonggi Province. By closely connecting hidden gem attractions across the province, we aim to lower the barriers for foreign visitors and serve as a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy."
