Yongin Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Sangil) announced on April 20 that the "Bukeok Bukeok Festa with YES24" was held at "SERI PAK with Yongin" in Mapyeong-dong, Cheoin-gu, on April 19 to commemorate World Book Day.

View original imageThis event was organized under the theme of "Awakening the Joy of Reading in Everyday Life" to mark World Book Day (April 23), established by UNESCO. In collaboration with YES24, Korea's largest online bookstore, the event featured lectures, a bazaar, and hands-on programs, offering unique content that combined sports and literature.
A book bazaar with around 5,000 volumes was held at the venue, and the proceeds from sales on the day will be donated as a fund to promote sports, culture, and the arts for children and youth.
Former Olympic women's golf team coach Park Seri hosted a talk program based on her essay "SERI, Life Is Rich," engaging with citizens and drawing significant attention.

Yongin City has a citizen reading rate of 54%, which is higher than the national average of 43%, showing that many citizens enjoy reading. This event, co-hosted with YES24 to allow people to purchase books in nearly new condition at affordable prices, is especially meaningful."
