to Enter the Global Market
Shinhan University (President Kang Sungjong) announced on April 8 that "Team Haechi," led by Sohyun Lim from the Department of Advanced Materials Engineering, has been selected to participate in the "2026 Public Technology-Based Market-Linked Startup Exploration Support Project (TeX-Corps, hereafter TeX Corps)," which is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and implemented by the Commercialization Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes (COMPA). The team was selected as part of the Ewha Womans University Laboratory Startup Innovation Group.
The TeX Corps program is Korea’s premier technology startup program, supporting market exploration training and commercialization processes to help outstanding university laboratory research achievements lead to actual startups. Notably, Team Haechi received high marks in the selection evaluation for the uniqueness of its technology and its potential to enter the global market, achieving the distinction of being selected for the "overseas training" track, which includes an on-site training program in the United States.
With this selection, Team Haechi will complete the "TeX Corps Program," an advanced startup education methodology. In particular, they will participate in a three-week on-site training program in the United States, where they will directly interview potential global customers and develop a business model optimized for the local market.
Additionally, each team will receive up to 30 million won in funding for prototype production and startup activities, as well as comprehensive support for all practical startup processes, including expert mentoring by field and IR pitching training.
To prepare for this project, Team Haechi completed various programs through the Gyeonggi-do RISE Project. The team is being closely supported in technology advancement and market entry strategy development by Professor Koh Ilkwon (Deputy Director of the RISE Project Group), who serves as the startup advisor (PM), and Professor Lim Chaehwan (Director of the SW Specialized Education Support Center), who acts as the technical advisor (PI).
