Pyeongtaek City Significantly Expands Public Transportation Reimbursements... Up to 83% for Low-Income Households
Pyeongtaek City Enhances "The Gyeonggi Pass" Benefits
"Card for All" to Be Introduced in 2026
Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Jung Jangsun), announced on April 8 that it will implement measures to expand support for "The Gyeonggi Pass" in response to the recent surge in international oil prices due to instability in the Middle East. The initiative aims to encourage citizens to use public transportation and reduce their transportation expenses.

Users who take public transportation at least 15 times will receive increased reimbursement rates: 30% for general users, 45% for youth, seniors, and households with two children, 75% for households with three children, and 83% for low-income users. Each group will benefit from higher reimbursement rates.
Additionally, in 2026, a new function called "Card for All," which is a flat-rate K-Pass, will be introduced, further expanding the method of receiving reimbursements for public transportation usage fees.
The "Card for All" reimburses the full amount when a user's monthly public transportation expenses exceed the standard threshold. The standard is set at 62,000 won per month for the general type and 100,000 won per month for the Plus type. The Plus type also includes metropolitan buses and the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Express Railway (GTX) in the reimbursement scope.
Current K-Pass users will automatically receive the benefits of the Card for All without any additional procedures. The maximum reimbursement amount will be automatically calculated every month based on the modes of transportation used and the total expenses.
Pyeongtaek City expects these policies to provide substantial relief from public transportation costs in the era of high oil prices by strengthening publicity and guidance so that citizens do not miss out on these benefits.
