View original imageThis competition has been organized to discover outstanding skilled technicians and to select participants for the 61st National Skills Competition, which will be held in Incheon this October.
A total of 475 people are participating in the competition, including 357 students from 41 vocational high schools in the province and 118 members of the general public. The competition is being held across eight venues, including Ansan Technical High School (the main venue), Namyangju High School, Gimpo Science and Technology High School, Gyeonggi Business High School, Samil Technical High School, Suwon Information Science High School, Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School, and Gyeonggi Smart High School.
The main competition categories include a total of 50 fields, such as mechanical design/CAD, IT network systems, cooking, automotive maintenance, intelligent robotics, and video content production, showcasing a wide range of technical skills in line with rapidly changing industry trends.
In particular, this year's competition will feature not only the main events but also a variety of side events to help middle and high school students explore career paths. On the second day of the competition, April 7, at Ansan Technical High School, various side events will take place, including a special career lecture by master chef Park Hyo-nam, skilled technology experience booths such as drone assembly and flight and K-beauty, and a promotional booth for specialized high schools.
Winners of first to third place in each category will receive certificates such as the Gyeonggi Province Governor's Award, as well as prize money of up to 1.3 million won, and will be exempted from the technical qualification exam for their respective fields. In addition, they will be granted the right to represent Gyeonggi Province at the 61st National Skills Competition to be held in Incheon this October.

Kim Hyeri, Director of Career and Vocational Education at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, said, "I hope this competition becomes an opportunity to boost the pride of vocational high school students and to share the value of skilled professions," adding, "We will actively support students so that they can grow into future industry talents."
