The project aims to deliver medals that were awarded during the war but could not be handed over due to urgent combat situations. Working in collaboration with Yeoju City, the project reconfirmed the recipient's eligibility and presented the medal to the bereaved family, who had not received it for a long time.
At the event, Lee Heungwon, the late sergeant's child, attended and received the medal on behalf of his family. The family took this meaningful occasion to pay tribute to the noble sacrifice and dedication of the late sergeant.
The late Sergeant Lee Seokman enlisted in December 1948 and was discharged in April 1951. In particular, his distinguished service during the Battle of Palgongsan in the Daegu area during the Korean War was recognized as a major contribution to national defense.
Through this ceremony, Yeoju City reaffirmed the honor of veterans who dedicated themselves to the nation and created an opportunity to widely promote their noble spirit of sacrifice within the local community.
