Gwangju Office of Education Receives "Excellent" Rating in Data-Driven Administration Assessment
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on April 2 that it received the highest grade, "Excellent," in the "2025 Data-Driven Administration Status Assessment."
The "Data-Driven Administration Status Assessment" is conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, evaluating 685 institutions—including metropolitan and provincial offices of education, central administrative agencies, local governments, and public corporations—based on their overall operation of data-driven administration, including data analysis, utilization, sharing, and policy application. Institutions are graded according to these criteria.
This year's assessment was carried out across three main areas—analysis and utilization, sharing, and management system—using 12 indicators. Based on the results, institutions were assigned grades of Excellent, Outstanding, Average, Insufficient, or Very Insufficient.
The city Office of Education contributed to breaking down barriers between institutions by sharing data such as the status of school libraries with other education offices and organizations. The office was also highly rated for achievements such as winning awards at best practice discovery contests and running research groups to promote data utilization.
In addition, the office achieved perfect scores in five specific indicators: AI and data-driven administration literacy and training performance, registration and management of metadata, provision of pseudonymized information and sharing of synthetic data, establishment of implementation foundations, and the commitment of the institution's leadership.
