After graduating from Keimyung University and building a solid career as a division head at a mid-sized company, one man decided to change the course of his life in 2019.
He left behind a socially respected position and chose to work in mobility support for people with limited mobility, dedicating himself to serving as a helping hand for the transportation disadvantaged.
This is the story of Jinsu Park (57), who works at the Mobility Support Division of Daegu Public Facility Management Corporation.

The reason Mr. Park left behind a stable life to walk the path of serving the socially disadvantaged is rooted in his unique family history.
Born as the eldest son among two sons and one daughter, he grew up caring devotedly for his older sister and younger brother, both of whom had hearing and speech impairments.
The sense of responsibility and compassion that naturally became ingrained in him in such an environment led him, at a turning point in life, to become a dedicated driver for people with disabilities.
Understanding his family's struggles more deeply than anyone, Mr. Park set a new goal in life: to help transportation disadvantaged individuals, who cannot easily go out, safely enjoy outings and experience the world beyond their homes.
◆Going Beyond His Main Work... Volunteering as a 'Safety Guardian' on the Road
Mr. Park’s sincerity was not confined to his driver’s seat.
Since 2020, he has contributed to the prevention of secondary accidents by reporting approximately 2,000 pieces of information—including accident scenes and hazardous road areas—while volunteering as a correspondent for TBN Daegu Traffic Broadcasting.
He also took the lead in strengthening the national road safety network as a member of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Road Safety Citizen Participation Group, reporting 180 cases of road damage and facility defects, which resulted in practical measures being implemented in over 90% of those cases.
In recognition of these contributions, he has received the Encouragement Award from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s participation group, a commendation from the Chairman of the Daegu Metropolitan Council, and a commendation from the president of the corporation, thus publicly demonstrating his genuine commitment.

In his main role as well, Mr. Park has become a role model for his colleagues, being selected three times as Best Driver in 2023 for his strict adherence to safety rules and his long record of accident-free driving.
Recently, he has also taken an active role in addressing local community issues, such as leading practical environmental improvements by communicating with the National Police Agency and the City Council to resolve the chronic parking issues at Duryu Park.
Mr. Park, who has always practiced the belief that "safe roads are completed by the small attention of citizens," has made over 2,500 reports over the past six years—not just statistics, but the result of a citizen’s noble efforts to save lives.
