Naver CEO Suyeon Choi and Spotify CEOs Hold Joint Roundtable in Sweden
Strengthening Collaboration in Content Partnership
Naver announced on March 26 that, over the course of two days on the 25th and 26th, it held discussions at Spotify's headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, with Spotify’s co-CEOs and executive team to advance the strategic partnership between the two companies within Korea.
The two companies shared the outcomes of their collaboration through Naver Plus Membership and navigation services, and discussed directions for further enhancing their entertainment partnership from a long-term perspective.
This roundtable was attended by Naver CEO Suyeon Choi, as well as Spotify’s co-CEOs Alex Norström and Gustav Söderström. Business development and marketing teams from both companies also participated to review the potential scope of collaboration.

View original imageSince November of last year, Naver Plus Membership has offered access to Spotify Membership. In addition, users can enjoy Spotify’s audio content via Naver’s search and maps applications using navigation features.
According to NAVER, following the launch of the Spotify partnership, the number of new Gen Z (born 1997–2006) Naver Membership sign-ups in December of last year increased by 17% compared to the previous month. Going forward, the two companies plan to expand their collaboration across various areas including search, marketing, and content. Since March 19, Spotify has also integrated Naver’s social login service, “Log in with Naver ID (Naver OAuth),” further improving user convenience.
Spotify co-CEO Alex Norström stated, “Korea is an important market where the local creative ecosystem and global connectivity intersect dynamically.” Spotify co-CEO Gustav Söderström added, “This meeting provided an in-depth opportunity to discuss which priorities both companies will pursue together from a long-term perspective.”

CEO Choi emphasized, “By integrating both companies’ services, platform capabilities, and brands, we will further expand tangible collaboration so that Korean users can experience music and audio content in new ways.”
