According to the finalized plan, a 3.77-kilometer section of Local Road No. 315, connecting Paengseong-eup and Oseong-myeon in Pyeongtaek, will be expanded from the current road to a four-lane highway.
This project, with a total budget of 42.4 billion won, is the result of Pyeongtaek City’s continued efforts to proactively address surging traffic demand caused by rapid urban growth and large-scale development initiatives.
Pyeongtaek City identified this project as a key task to prevent potential bottlenecks at the connection point with the already-expanded Paengseong Bridge (four lanes), once the 4B route (four lanes) is opened under the “Godeok Internationalization District Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Plan.” Upon completion, the expanded section is expected to secure the continuity of the metropolitan road network linking to the Godeok Internationalization District.
In particular, this project will strengthen the north-south road axis of Pyeongtaek City. By fundamentally resolving road capacity shortages, it is expected to efficiently distribute traffic from nearby National Routes 43 and 45, greatly enhancing convenience for residents.
