The account, under the name "Jessica Foster," gained close to one million followers on social media over four months starting from the end of 2025. By showcasing images of herself in uniform during training or with world leaders, the account quickly gained popularity by emphasizing the image of a "patriotic American female soldier." However, a number of inconsistencies, such as errors in uniform name tags and references to non-existent events, led to the discovery that the character was AI-generated.
‘Deceptive Monetization Strategy’: Blending Politics and Adult Content
However, some users reportedly still believe the character to be a real person. Experts analyze this as a prime example of a recently spreading "grift strategy" online—a deceptive monetization strategy. This approach uses AI-generated images that are difficult to distinguish from reality to attract user attention, then guides them to paid services such as adult content subscription platforms to generate revenue. In fact, the Foster account was once operated in connection with an adult platform before being deleted for violating the "real humans only" rule, after which users were redirected to another platform that permits AI models.

These accounts use AI-generated female characters, presented as Trump-supporting soldiers, police officers, or truck drivers, naturally embedding political messages. Such content blurs the line between fact and fiction and is designed to make users mistake the AI characters for real people.
Some warn that this trend could go beyond simple online deception and lead to political propaganda and the spread of disinformation. Above all, advances in AI technology have made it easier to create consistent virtual personas and seamlessly combine them with real politicians or events. This has raised concerns that such accounts could be used not just as profit models but also for organized opinion manipulation or propaganda efforts.
Spread of AI Female Accounts... Platforms Struggle to Respond to Political Messaging
This incident demonstrates that the management systems of social media platforms are not fully equipped to cope in the age of AI. With a lack of clear labeling and verification systems for AI-generated content, it is highly likely that similar cases will continue to increase.

Joan Donovan, assistant professor at Boston University who researches media manipulation, pointed out, "Such accounts are easy to create, can be infinitely modified, and have clear monetization channels. If anonymous accounts are used like a kind of 'bot army,' there's a risk they could be exploited for propaganda or spreading disinformation." She added, "We are increasingly moving toward a society where the boundaries between reality and unreality are blurred. This method can be extremely effective at delivering political messages, which makes it particularly dangerous."
