Naju City in South Jeolla Province will hold the 3rd Yeongsanpo Spring Cherry Blossom Busking Festival on March 28 at the Yeongsanpo Traditional Market area to welcome the arrival of spring. The festival will offer emotional music performances and a variety of hands-on programs, allowing citizens and tourists alike to experience the atmosphere of spring.
According to Naju City, the festival was planned to make use of cherry blossoms, the region's signature spring resource, to create a cultural event where both citizens and visitors can enjoy themselves, while also revitalizing the local commercial district, which has been sluggish.
The event will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the day, starting with a pre-show by the Naju City Gugak Orchestra. It will feature a wide range of busking performances including acoustic guitar, haegeum (Korean traditional string instrument), chanson and rock acts, fusion gugak, and trot singers.
At the festival site, there will be performances by a stilt balloon man along with hands-on booths offering calligraphy and caricature drawing, creating a festive atmosphere that everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy.
Citizens and tourists visiting the festival, where lavishly blooming cherry blossoms blend with beautiful busking melodies, are expected to soak up the warmth of spring and enjoy a leisurely atmosphere.
