Drive Over 1,000 km on a Single Tank: The 'Fuel Efficiency Champion' Winning Over Cost-Conscious Drivers
Advanced Features Offered with 'e-Guide' Video Manual
With oil prices surging, hybrids are drawing attention as an economical choice to reduce fuel costs. The Renault Philante, which has surpassed 7,000 pre-orders, is being recognized for its excellent fuel efficiency and stable driving performance, establishing itself as a leading hybrid model.
According to Renault Korea on March 23, the crossover Philante is equipped with a hybrid E-Tech powertrain that achieves a class-leading fuel efficiency of 15.1 km/l. Customers who have test-driven the vehicle have reported fuel economy that exceeds the official combined rating, with some confirming that it is possible to drive over 1,000 kilometers on a single tank of fuel.
The hybrid E-Tech system features a series-parallel structure, combining a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine delivering a maximum output of 150 ps and a maximum torque of 250 Nm with two electric motors. The system achieves a combined output of up to 250 ps. With the addition of a class-leading 1.64 kWh lithium-ion battery, the vehicle can run in electric-only mode for up to 75% of urban driving.
Furthermore, the multi-mode automatic gearbox with a three-stage gear structure enables seamless transitions between electric driving, internal combustion driving, and hybrid driving without any sense of disconnection. Multi-link rear suspension and frequency-selective dampers (SFD) have also been applied. This advanced suspension technology detects vibrations of various frequencies from the road surface and adjusts damping force in real time.
Advanced acoustic technologies enhance cabin quietness, including active noise cancellation, optimized door sealing, and reinforced soundproofing and sound-absorbing materials in the floor and engine compartment—all of which are standard across all trims. For the Iconic trim and above, double-laminated soundproof glass is standard on the side windows of both the first and second rows.
A Renault Korea official stated, "As more consumers seek vehicles that can reduce fuel expenses, the Philante is emerging as a rational choice," adding, "With its outstanding fuel efficiency, stable driving performance, and high level of quietness, it will become an 'all-rounder' model in the Korean automotive market."
Meanwhile, Renault Korea has released an e-guide, a video-based vehicle user manual for the 'Renault Philante.' The e-guide consists of 27 segments, covering everything from advanced driver assistance features and steering wheel button instructions to AI-powered voice recognition services such as 'A.Dot Auto' and 'Tips.'
