He added, "Gimpo City should also actively work to attract such training institutions."
Gyeonggi Province plans to designate a total of five training institutions within the province, with one of the two cities, Paju or Gimpo, to be selected from the northern third region.
Preliminary Candidate Cho remarked, "Some are concerned that Paju, which has a slightly larger population than Gimpo, may have a relative advantage," and emphasized, "For Gimpo to attract the training institution, proactive measures and persuasive efforts at the city level are necessary."
Child caregivers play a crucial role in filling caregiving gaps and preventing career interruptions for parents amid a social structure centered on dual-income and nuclear families. At the same time, they are key personnel in the care system, helping children grow up safely and healthily.
Preliminary Candidate Cho stated, "As low birth rates and the trend toward nuclear families intensify, creating a social care and responsible upbringing environment for each child is becoming increasingly important," and added, "Accordingly, establishing a professional and systematic training foundation for child caregivers is also essential."
He continued, "Although private organizations are the main applicants in this recruitment for training institutions, it is a highly public initiative, so Gimpo City should take an active interest and provide support," emphasizing that "especially, public officials need to respond with a more proactive attitude."
Preliminary Candidate Cho also pointed out, "Previously, during the Gyeonggi Province competition for Peace Economic Special Zone candidate sites to promote development in border areas, Gimpo City was the only one among the eight cities and counties not to apply, which was very disappointing," and stressed, "Opportunities for local development must not continue to be missed."
