Israel Says "Airstrike on Tehran Airport Destroys Khamenei's Private Jet"
The Israeli military announced on March 16 (local time) that it had destroyed the private jet used by former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Israeli Air Force stated on X (formerly Twitter) that it had "conducted an airstrike on Mehrabad Airport in Tehran and destroyed the private jet used by Khamenei, the leader of Iran's terrorist regime."
The Israeli Air Force explained that "this aircraft was regularly used by Khamenei, as well as high-ranking government officials and military leaders, for both domestic and international travel."
The Air Force also claimed that the aircraft had been used for secret flights involving military coordination, procurement of overseas military supplies, and strategic components. The Air Force stated, "The destruction of the private jet is expected to cause serious disruptions to the cooperation system between the Iranian leadership and its allies," and added, "With the destruction of the Iranian aircraft, the Israeli military has significantly weakened the Iranian regime's command and control capabilities, as well as its ability to rebuild militarily."
