Boseong County Scholarship Foundation Opens Public Applications for '2026 First Half Scholarship Students'
Boseong County in South Jeolla Province announced that the Boseong County Scholarship Foundation will be accepting public applications for '2026 First Half Scholarship Students' until March 31, in order to discover local talent and strengthen educational competitiveness.
This scholarship program will select 610 students across 12 fields and provide a total of 465.21 million won in scholarships. The initiative aims to boost students' academic motivation and to establish a stable educational environment in the region.
The scholarships will be awarded to 150 students for academic excellence, 62 as future talents, 22 for the Hope Narae category, 79 for Home Nest, 123 for the Hanultari category, and 69 for Seedling Growth, among others, covering a total of 12 categories.
Eligible applicants are elementary, middle, high school, and university students who, as of the announcement date, have either themselves or their guardians registered their residence in Boseong County for over a year and are actually living there. For university students, even if their current address is outside the county for study purposes, they may still apply if their parents' registered address is in Boseong County.
Students wishing to apply should submit the required documents to their school or to the administrative welfare center of their residential township. Scholarship recipients will be confirmed after an initial review and a final decision by the foundation’s board of directors, and the scholarships are scheduled to be distributed between May and June.
In particular, this year, reflecting feedback from educational sites, a new 'Saturday Breakfast Support Program for High School Dormitory Students' will be implemented. The county plans to provide breakfast to 127 students at three dormitory-type high schools, ensuring a stable learning environment.
Additionally, through the 'Talent Development' program, 50 million won will be allocated to six schools, and through the 'Dream Development' program, 20 million won will be provided to two schools, thereby strengthening students’ creative, specialty, and aptitude education.
Furthermore, the Boseong County Scholarship Foundation publishes an annual 'Scholarship Newsletter' to facilitate communication between donors and residents. This year, the newsletter will include the foundation’s major achievements in 2025 and business plans for 2026, increasing transparency in scholarship fund management and expanding resident participation.
