Minister Yoonduk Kim Urges New Presidents of KORAIL and SR to Join Forces for High-Speed Rail Integration
Yoonduk Kim, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, presented appointment letters to Taeseung Kim, the newly appointed President of Korea Railroad Corporation, and Wanguk Jeong, the newly appointed President of SR, at the Government Complex Sejong on the 16th.
At the ceremony, Minister Kim stated, "As you have been newly appointed under a government that prioritizes the sovereignty of the people, you must swiftly pursue national policy tasks, placing the convenience and safety of the public above all else, and maintain 24-hour safe railway operations." Minister Kim instructed President Taeseung Kim of Korea Railroad Corporation, "As the delay in Dawonsys deliveries has caused public inconvenience, please take the lead in mobilizing the company's full capabilities to ensure early delivery and address issues related to aging rolling stock." Stressing that the rapidly changing operational environment calls for railway structural reforms, he added, "Please promptly develop measures to improve the management system of Korea Railroad Corporation's subsidiaries to enhance efficiency."
