Pink Bean Transformed into a Ride... Lotte World Unveils New "Maple Island Zone"
Nexon's MapleStory IP Comes to Life
A 600-Pyeong Maple Island Zone Opens on Magic Island
Lotte World Adventure announced on March 16 that it will open the "Maple Island Zone," which incorporates the intellectual property (IP) of Nexon's flagship online game MapleStory, on April 3 next month.
The Maple Island Zone will be created on Magic Island, the outdoor space of Lotte World Adventure, covering approximately 1,984 square meters (about 600 pyeong). The area is themed after three worlds from MapleStory: "Henesys," "Arcana," and "Ludibrium."
Three new attractions have been introduced: the roller coaster "Stone Express," the healing attraction "Arcana Ride," and the drop-type attraction "Eos Tower." The existing attraction "Gyro Spin" will also be transformed with the concept of MapleStory's iconic monster "Pink Bean." The 10-meter-diameter disc will be redesigned to resemble a pink record, offering the fun of riding what feels like a giant spinning record. In addition, a "Character Plaza" will be created in front of the main gate of the Maple Island Zone, and both a gift shop and F&B (food and beverage) stores will be operated.
