No More Hassle of Paperwork and Office Visits... Farmland Lease Trust Made Easy
Digitizing the Entire Process from Document Submission to Contract Signing and Management Entity Updates
Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC) announced on March 13, 2026 that it has introduced digital services to make it easier for farmers and the public to participate in the farmland lease trust project, and will continue to improve these services throughout this year.
The farmland lease trust project is a system in which KRC takes over farmland that is difficult for owners to cultivate themselves and leases it to farmers.
Since 2024, the corporation has been digitizing the entire process, from document submission and contract signing to changes in management entity information, to enhance convenience for farmers and the public.
First, the introduction of "Public MyData" has simplified the document submission process.
Previously, applicants had to visit administrative welfare centers to obtain documents and then submit them to the corporation. Now, without visiting any issuing agency, they can easily submit eight types of required documents—including resident registration, agricultural management entity registration certificate, national tax payment certificate, local tax payment certificate, income amount certificate, comprehensive real estate certificate, land register, and family relationship certificate—simply by verifying their identity via mobile phone.
Since the launch of this service, about 31,000 people have used Public MyData through last year. The service has significantly reduced both document issuance costs and travel time, according to users.
Contract signing has also become much simpler.
Before the introduction of "digital contracts," clients had to visit the corporation in person and provide multiple signatures and seals. Now, contracts can be signed from anywhere using a computer or mobile phone.
For senior farmers who are less familiar with digital environments, digital kiosks (tablets) have been set up, allowing contracts to be completed with a single signature. To date, more than 142,000 contracts have been signed using digital contracts and digital kiosks, receiving strong positive feedback from farmers for the convenient service.
Changing agricultural management entity information after signing a farmland lease has also become easier. Previously, farmers who had completed lease contracts with the corporation had to visit the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service to update their management entity information.
KRC has now integrated lease contract data with the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, enabling farmers to update their management entity information with a single phone call, without needing to visit the agency in person.
This change has provided practical help for farmers who previously had to travel from the corporation to the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service after completing their contracts.
The corporation plans to continue improving its services this year by listening to the voices of farmers and the public.
