NH Investment & Securities: "Neutral Investment-Type Default Option Tops Retirement Pension Returns"
NH Investment & Securities announced on March 13 that its 'Neutral Investment Portfolio 2' recorded an annual return of 14.52% in the retirement pension default option (pre-designated management method) return comparison disclosure for the fourth quarter of last year.
This figure surpasses the average return of 11.0% for neutral investment-type portfolios in the securities industry by more than 3.5 percentage points, making it the top performer among large-scale operators with retirement pension reserves of over 3 trillion won in the securities sector.
The company explained that the key to 'Neutral Investment Portfolio 2' outperforming the industry average was its allocation strategy, which maintained a '70:30 golden ratio' between target date funds (TDF) and time deposits.
NH Investment & Securities utilized the TDF 2045 product, which has a relatively higher proportion of equities and can generate flexible returns in an uptrend market. In particular, the company strictly selected and incorporated 'Hanwha LIFEPLUS TDF 2045', which recorded the highest annual return in its product group in 2025, into the portfolio, which proved to be effective. This approach allowed time deposits to act as a buffer during a market downturn, while TDFs drove returns during an uptrend, demonstrating 'market-optimized' management capabilities.
The default option system automatically operates pre-designated products for retirement pension subscribers (DC/IRP) who do not provide separate management instructions. Depending on the investor's risk profile, it is largely divided into aggressive investment, neutral investment, stable investment, and conservative portfolios.
