Yangju City, 'Gyeonggi Yangju Technovalley' on Track as CAS and Interone Sign Land Sales Contract
Yangju Technovalley Secures Move-In by Global SMEs
From MOU to Real Investment: Advancing as a Hub for Advanced Manufacturing
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on March 11 that it has signed a land sales contract with CAS Co., Ltd., a global leader in weighing systems, and Interone Co., Ltd., a leading company in LED optoelectronic semiconductor solutions, as well as Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH), for industrial land at Gyeonggi Yangju Technovalley.
Both companies had previously signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with Yangju City, and the significance of this announcement lies in the fact that the initial MOUs have now led to formal contracts and actual investment commitments, rather than remaining at the stage of simple agreements.
CAS Co., Ltd. is a global company specializing in weighing and measuring solutions, maintaining the number one market share in Korea. With an export network spanning over 150 countries worldwide, CAS plans to establish high-precision measurement system research and manufacturing facilities at the new site, further advancing its existing manufacturing capabilities and strengthening its global market competitiveness through this move.
Interone Co., Ltd. is an innovative small and medium-sized enterprise that developed Korea's first LED module for outdoor advertising and possesses unrivaled technological capabilities in the fields of LED optoelectronic semiconductors and architectural lighting. Interone is expected to establish an advanced light source technology research center and intelligent production line within Technovalley, take the lead in the future light source technology industry, and play a central role in the region's advanced manufacturing supply chain.
The Gyeonggi Yangju Technovalley, where this contract was signed, is a cutting-edge industrial complex with a total area of approximately 218,000 square meters, currently being jointly developed in the Majon-dong area of Yangju City by Yangju City, Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH), and Gyeonggi Province. The city explained that, following the establishment of an industry-academia cooperation system with Seojeong University, the planned entry of companies such as CAS and Interone is accelerating the creation of a northern Gyeonggi hub facility that integrates work, residence, leisure, and learning functions.
Lee Jeongsoo, Head of Corporate Support Division, stated, "This finalized move-in is a significant milestone in the development of Gyeonggi Yangju Technovalley as an advanced manufacturing and research & development industrial complex based on industry-academia collaboration. In particular, since this contract demonstrates that the business agreement has resulted in actual investment, we will continue our efforts to attract companies in the future."
