Tongmyong University Companion Animal Industry Design Major Participates in 2026 Daegu Pet Show
Students majoring in Companion Animal Industry Design at Tongmyong University participated in the 2026 Daegu Pet Show, a companion animal culture festival, where they operated a pet design experience booth.
The event was held at Daegu EXCO over three days from March 6 to March 8, 2026. The students hosted experience programs such as making pet toys and leather identification tags, allowing visitors to create pet products themselves.
In addition, pet-related works designed and produced by the students as part of their major coursework were exhibited, and some products were sold on-site.
Professors from the College of Companion Animal Studies at Tongmyong University, along with newly admitted freshmen and their parents, also visited the venue to experience the booth programs and support the students.
Participating students Yu Jihae, Kim Soyeon, Kang Minseong, Kim Haram, Nam Haejeong, Yoon Yeji, Lee Yeeun, Lee Wonwoo, Lee Yoona, and Cho Minkyeong said, "We were able to understand the trends in the companion animal industry by experiencing every stage from planning and production to running the experience programs and selling products ourselves. Interacting with visitors gave us an opportunity to reflect on the role that pet design can play in spreading companion animal culture and care."
