The Blue House stated, in response to reports that USFK strategic assets are being deployed to the Middle East, "Regardless of whether some USFK assets are being moved overseas, there is absolutely no problem with our deterrence against North Korea, given the level of our military strength, the scale of our defense spending, the capabilities of our defense industry, and the high morale of our troops."

South Korea and the United States will continue close communication and cooperation."
The Blue House also requested restraint from the press regarding sensitive military reports, such as the movement of USFK strategic assets. It stated, "Please keep in mind that excessive related reporting and speculative articles are undesirable in terms of our security interests, the safety of our citizens overseas, international defense cooperation, and our relationships with key Middle Eastern countries."
Following reports that USFK air defense weapons are being sent to the Middle East after the US and Israel's airstrikes against Iran, the Blue House has maintained a consistent stance that it is not appropriate for the government to respond, thereby managing the situation. On March 10, The Washington Post also reported that part of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system is being moved to the Middle East.
