88.1% of Seocho Residents "Satisfied with Current Life"...Pride in District Rises 3.7 Points to 81.5%
"2025 Seocho District Social Survey" Released
High Demand for Policies on Safety, Environment, and Youth Economy
According to the results of the "2025 Seocho-gu Social Survey" conducted by Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Seongsoo Jeon), 88.1% of residents expressed satisfaction with their current lives. Additionally, 81.5% of respondents reported feeling a sense of pride as Seocho residents, marking an increase of 3.7 percentage points compared to 2023.
This survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 4,347 household members aged 15 or older residing in Seocho District from December 1 to 24 last year. It covered 85 items across 12 areas, including housing, childcare, education, employment, and culture·leisure, and is carried out every two years.
By category, satisfaction with childcare services for preschool children was 93.3%, up 2.3 percentage points from 2023. As for childcare methods, kindergartens accounted for 33.2%, public·corporate daycare centers for 26.2%, and direct parental care for 16.9%. Satisfaction with public education was highest for facility standards (84.9%), followed by accessibility (77.7%) and teacher quality (76.5%).
In the culture·leisure sector, participation in local festivals stood at 63.7%, a sharp increase of 11.1 percentage points compared to 2023. The usage rate of public libraries also rose by 7.2 percentage points to 40.8%. Satisfaction with public transportation was recorded at 85.9%, and satisfaction with walkability at 81.0%. The most frequently cited area for improving the transportation environment was expanding parking spaces (28.9%).
The policy area that residents felt was most needed was "safety" (43.8%), followed by "environment·health" (38.8%) and "youth·economy" (38.2%).
