Jeong Wonoh Forms 'Step-by-Step Camp'... Campaign Chair Lee Haesik, Sponsorship Chair Lee Jaejung
Lee Hae-sik, Chae Hyunil, Oh Kihyung, Lee Jeongheon, and Park Mingyu Join the Campaign
Lee Jaejung, former Minister of Unification, has taken on the role of chairman of the sponsorship committee for Jeong Wonoh, former Mayor of Seongdong District, who is running in the Democratic Party of Korea's primary for Seoul mayor. Incumbent lawmakers such as Lee Hae-sik, Chae Hyunil, Oh Kihyung, Lee Jeongheon, and Park Mingyu have also joined Jeong’s campaign and have begun active electioneering.
Lee Jeongheon, a Democratic Party lawmaker serving as the campaign’s chief spokesperson, stated at the National Assembly’s communication center on March 10, “The most notable feature is that five current National Assembly members who have held key party positions are joining the campaign.” He added, “This unprecedented team of highly capable individuals proves that former Mayor Jeong is the Democratic Party’s well-prepared winning card.”

View original imageThe election campaign committee is chaired by Lee Hae-sik, a two-term lawmaker representing Gangdong-eul in Seoul. Chae Hyunil, representing Yeongdeungpo-gap, is serving as the chief executive of the campaign, overseeing operations. Oh Kihyung, from Dobong-eul, is the head of the policy division. Lee Jeongheon, representing Gwangjin-gap, is both the chief spokesperson and head of media communications, while Park Mingyu, from Gwanak-gap, is in charge as both strategy division chief and organization division chief.
Park Kyungmi, a former lawmaker who served as both a member of the 20th National Assembly and as a spokesperson for the Blue House, will serve as the campaign’s spokesperson. Shin Hyunyoung, who served in the 21st National Assembly, will act as policy advisory group leader. Lim Gwanggi, former SBS editorial writer and special press secretary for Lee Jaemyung’s presidential campaign, and Moon Soyoung, former editorial chief at Seoul Shinmun, will serve as chief and deputy chief of the communications advisory group, respectively.
The chairman of the sponsorship committee is Lee Jaejung, former Minister of Unification, who was nominated for the role. According to Lee, “He is a senior politician who led the October 4 North-South Joint Declaration under the Roh Moo-hyun administration and served two terms as Superintendent of Education in Gyeonggi Province, representing the Democratic Party’s core roots.”
The campaign’s slogan is “Jeong Wonoh, Seoul Mayor of the Lee Jaemyung Administration, Step by Step.” Lee explained, “The name of the campaign is ‘Step-by-Step Camp for Hardworking Jeong Wonoh,’ reflecting a commitment to tackle issues one by one.”

Former Mayor Jeong will hold a press day on March 11 at Sangyeonjae near Seoul City Hall and at the National Assembly’s communication center. Lee stated, “He will present more detailed foundational plans for Seoul’s city administration and explain in detail his approach to this Democratic Party primary.”
