The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Authority announced that they will hold a site briefing session for the Daewoo Engineering & Construction consortium, which passed the preliminary bidder qualification screening (by the Public Procurement Service) for the Gadeokdo New Airport site development project. The session will be held at the Authority on March 9 at 2:00 p.m.
According to the bidding guidelines, the basic design for the site development project must be completed within six months (180 days) from the date of the site briefing session.
During this session, the main contents of the bidding guidelines will be shared, focusing on the project implementation plan and key considerations for design, construction, and bidding processes.
The organizers will also emphasize the need for participants to utilize their technology and expertise to ensure the airport is constructed safely. They will request strict compliance with bidding requirements, such as the construction period, and urge the prompt advancement of the project.
After the basic design phase, the adequacy of the design will be reviewed by the Central Construction Technology Deliberation Committee, and construction of the priority sections is scheduled to begin within the year.
The government plans to form and operate the 'Gadeokdo New Airport Project Promotion Council' together with Busan Metropolitan City and the Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Authority. The council will monitor preparation activities such as permits and compensation, as well as develop regional cooperation tasks including revitalizing the local economy and supporting residents.
