Korea Airports Corporation to Build UAM Vertiport at Goyang KINTEX, Aiming for Completion in 2027
First Application of National Design Standards
Completion Targeted for 2027 as a Key Transportation Hub
The construction of a Korean-style vertiport, with the nation’s first-ever application of infrastructure standards for Urban Air Mobility (UAM) commercialization, is now underway. The plan is to present a new standard for next-generation transportation hubs that go beyond simple takeoff and landing facilities to integrate security screening and air traffic control systems.

This project is being carried out as part of the second phase of the demonstration program led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
In particular, this is the first case to reflect the government's "Vertiport Design Standards," which were established on March 3, and the goal is to complete construction by 2027. The facility will cover a land area of 15,085 square meters, with one takeoff and landing pad and two parking stands. The total building floor area, including the passenger terminal and hangar, will reach 1,836 square meters.
Based on its experience in airport operations, Korea Airports Corporation will establish passenger identification and security screening environments, as well as build the takeoff and landing area operation and control systems. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute will be responsible for constructing permanent structures such as the landing pad and terminal. A digital vertiport system that links passenger, weather, and aircraft location information in real time will also be introduced.
