Inauguration Ceremony Held for the 16th Director on March 4
Yonsei University's Gangnam Severance Hospital announced on March 4 that Yonguk Kim has been inaugurated as the 16th Director of the hospital. Approximately 150 people, including Kium Ki Chang, Vice President for Medical Affairs and President & CEO of Yonsei University Health System, as well as faculty and staff members, attended the inauguration ceremony held at the hospital's main auditorium.

View original imageDirector Kim graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine in 1994. He has served as Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Severance Hospital, Deputy Director for Clinical Innovation, Director of Severance Rehabilitation Hospital, and Director of Planning and Coordination at Yonsei University Health System. His strengths also include experience in healthcare management, having completed the master's program at Chungbuk National University Graduate School of Business and an executive management program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee for the Food and Drug Crime Investigation Department at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office, as well as an expert member in the field of biomedical science for the National Science and Technology Advisory Council under the Ministry of Science and ICT.

In his inauguration speech, Director Kim emphasized three key priorities: promoting the construction of a new hospital building, strengthening the hospital's competitiveness in clinical care and research, and transforming the hospital into a digital and artificial intelligence-based facility. He stated, "I will pursue rational and future-oriented policies that reflect the voices from the field," and added, "By uniting the capabilities of our members, I will lead the hospital to new heights."
