During the evening rush hour on the 26th, a fire broke out at a restaurant in Bukchang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, and the fire department began extinguishing the blaze.
According to the fire authorities, the Jungbu Fire Station received a report at around 6:22 p.m. that gray smoke was coming from a restaurant on the second floor of a commercial building in Bukchang-dong.
The fire authorities have deployed about 90 personnel and around 20 pieces of equipment to carry out firefighting operations. The first response team arrived at the scene at around 6:28 p.m., but the fire has not yet been brought under initial control.

At around 7:28 p.m., Jung-gu sent a safety alert text message, asking, "Due to the building fire, a large amount of smoke is being generated, so nearby residents should be careful to avoid inhaling smoke, and vehicles should take detours."
