On the morning of the 26th, Director Ko held a founders' meeting in a small conference room on the fourth floor of Central Hospital to establish the tentatively named "Jaebok Scholarship Foundation," where participants discussed the background of the foundation's launch and its future direction of operation.
The meeting was attended by Director Ko; Lee Changsik, CEO of LCS Construction; Choi Youngjin, Gwangju and Jeonnam delegate of the Korea Electrical Technicians Association; Kim Woogwan, head of the Honam bureau at The Asia Business Daily; Na Sunseon, planner at MetLife; and Jin Yonghun, CEO of Thejin Tax & Accounting Firm, who reviewed the business plan and budget proposal.
The name "Jaebok Scholarship Foundation" is said to have been created by taking one character each from the names of Director Ko's late father, teacher Ko Jaeseop, and his mother, Mrs. Kim Boknyeo, in order to honor their lifelong dedication to their children's education and to repay their devotion.
Director Ko stated that his intention is "to give back to the local community by carrying on my parents' educational philosophy and the value of sharing."
Director Ko explained, "I have consistently provided scholarships to support the studies of local students, and I decided to establish the foundation to offer more systematic and sustainable support."
The foundation is expected to be operated in the form of a public-interest corporation that contributes to the benefit of the local community and society at large.

Meanwhile, the founders held extensive discussions on the future direction of the scholarship programs, the scope of beneficiaries, and measures to ensure operational transparency, and they plan to submit an application for establishment approval to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education in the first week of March.
