Korea Importers Association Meets Serbian Ambassador to Discuss Cooperation Plans
The Korea Importers Association announced on the 25th that it had met with Nemanja Grbic, Ambassador of Serbia to Korea, at its headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

View original imageAt the meeting, Ambassador Grbic said, "Serbia is a country with an agri-food industry base whose competitiveness has been recognized in the European market," and added, "We hope to expand our exports to Korea of major items such as organic corn, vegetable oils, and frozen fruits and vegetables."
He stated, "Interest among Serbian companies in the Korean market continues to grow," and added, "Following last year, we will actively use the Korea Import Expo again this year as a platform to expand business between companies of the two countries." He went on to request the dispatch of a Serbian import delegation and expressed hope that this would help invigorate exchanges between companies in both countries.
In response, Yoon Youngmi, President of the Korea Importers Association, said, "Serbia has excellent quality competitiveness in the food sector, including frozen fruits and vegetables," and added, "If awareness in the Korean market is further raised, market entry will be further facilitated."
She added, "Through the Korea Import Expo, we hope that Serbian companies will be able to directly exhibit and promote their products and conduct one-on-one consultations with domestic buyers, thereby creating an opportunity to raise their profile in the Korean market and expand actual transactions."

Ambassador Grbic said, "Negotiations on the Korea-Serbia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) began last year and are aiming for conclusion this year," and added, "If the negotiations are concluded, we expect it will serve as a positive turning point for expanding trade between the two countries and invigorating exchanges between companies."
