The meeting, presided over by Mayor Bang Sehwan, reviewed the 2025 collection performance for local taxes and non-tax revenues, and discussed measures to achieve the 2026 targets for local taxes and non-tax revenues, measures to clear arrears, and implementation plans by department to achieve non-tax revenue targets.
The city set its 2026 revenue target for local taxes and non-tax revenues at a total of 393.9 billion won. Of this amount, 330.5 billion won is from local taxes and 63.4 billion won is from non-tax revenues. To achieve the target, the city presented as key tasks the strengthening of tax base discovery, the timely imposition and collection of non-tax revenues, the minimization of arrears, and the promotion of policies that make it easier for residents to pay taxes.
Specifically, the city plans to identify omitted tax sources through the maintenance of taxation data, post-management inspections of tax reductions and exemptions, and corporate tax audits, and to carry out disposition for arrears such as home searches, seizure of movables, and public auctions for those with large and habitual arrears. In contrast, for livelihood-type delinquents, the city plans to ensure fairness in collection by encouraging payment in installments while linking them with welfare services.
In addition, to improve taxpayer convenience, the city will newly introduce an electronic notification service via Kakao for arrears, in order to enhance the speed and accuracy of delinquency notices and improve collection efficiency.
