"See You on the Weekend": Gangwon Province to Hold Regional Information Briefings with the Governor
Gangwon Province to Hold "On-Site Communication Information Briefing"
A Weekend "Date" as the Governor Visits Residents in Person
Tour Across Three Regions Beginning with the Chuncheon Area on February 28
The Governor of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on February 12 that the province will hold the event titled "Governor's Heart-to-Heart Gangwon-do Information Briefing (hereinafter referred to as the Information Briefing)" to realize resident-centered, empathetic administration in line with the 2026 provincial government operation policy.
This Information Briefing further develops the "2026 Provincial Government Work Briefing (hereinafter referred to as the Work Briefing)," which was broadcast live on YouTube twice, on January 29 and February 3, and has been prepared to strengthen direct communication with residents.
Whereas the previous Work Briefing focused on transparently opening the provincial government’s internal meetings to residents, this Information Briefing will have the governor and residents meet in person to share the 2026 provincial government operation policy and the implementation plans for key flagship projects, and to directly gather residents’ opinions on site so they can be actively reflected in provincial administration.
In particular, to increase participation from residents who are busy with their livelihoods, this Information Briefing will be held on weekends and will tour by region, including the Chuncheon area, Wonju area, and Gangneung area, to communicate with as many residents as possible.
The Chuncheon area session is scheduled to be held on February 28 at the Baengnyeong Art Center in Chuncheon (covering Chuncheon, Hongcheon, Cheorwon, Hwacheon, Yanggu, and Inje); the Wonju area session on March 14 at the Chiak Art Center in Wonju (covering Wonju, Hoengseong, Yeongwol, Pyeongchang, and Jeongseon); and the Gangneung area session on March 28 at the Haeram Culture Hall of Gangneung-Wonju National University (covering Gangneung, Donghae, Taebaek, Sokcho, Samcheok, Goseong, and Yangyang).
Any resident who wishes to attend can freely participate by visiting the venue on the day of the event.

Yoon Wooyoung, Director General of Administration of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, said, "Administration should not be one-way communication, but two-way communication that starts from the residents' point of view," adding, "Through this Information Briefing, we will listen directly to residents' thoughts and demands and spread resident-empathetic administration across all areas of provincial governance."
