Gurye-gun To Hold First Local Flea Market "Kongjang" On March 21
Operated to Coincide with the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Jeonnam Sports Festival
Gurye-gun in South Jeolla Province will officially launch the local flea market "Kongjang" on March 21, at Seosicheon Sports Park and surrounding areas, to invigorate the local economy and tourism.
The first-half schedule consists of three sessions on March 21, March 28, and April 11, and it will be operated to coincide with the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Jeonnam Sports Festival. Each session will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Seosicheon Sports Park.
At this flea market, local small business owners, small and medium-sized enterprises, and social economy organizations will participate and showcase a variety of products, including local agricultural and specialty products and food.
In addition, to expand participation by local residents, a "direct transaction sales zone" will be operated where they can sell agricultural products and other goods they have produced themselves through direct transactions. Residents of the county who wish to participate can apply by February 27 by referring to the announcement on the county office website.
Since 2024, Gurye-gun has been promoting a local creator development project that combines local resources with private-sector ideas, working to revitalize a local, creativity-based economy. The launch of "Kongjang" is being pursued as an extension of these efforts and is expected to serve as an opportunity to build a Gurye-style local economic ecosystem with active participation from local residents.
