This visit was part of a support project for the underprivileged that Assemblyman Kim has been carrying out for several years, and was organized to deliver the warmth of the holiday to seniors living alone and residents in vulnerable groups at the welfare center.
In particular, the nurungji that Assemblyman Kim personally prepared was well received as a gift that also took the health of seniors into consideration, as it is easy to digest and highly nutritious.
Assemblyman Kim said, "Nurungji is a food that can be cooked easily, so seniors living alone can eat it without difficulty," adding, "Though it is a small gesture, I hope it will provide comfort so that they do not feel lonely during the holiday."
He added, "I will continue to take the lead in closing welfare gaps through on-site, community-based legislative activities carried out together with the local community."
Ryu Sangcheol, director of Suncheon Jorye Jonghap Social Welfare Center, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thanks to Assemblyman Kim's consistent interest and support, residents gain great strength every holiday," and, "Not only the nurungji but also a single heartfelt word provides great comfort to the seniors."
